Treated pine gates framed to match your paling or lap & cap fence, hung on galvanised steel or timber posts.
A timber gate is a braced treated pine frame clad with the same palings as the fence – single paling, lapped or lap and cap – so it disappears into the fence line. Single gates suit side passages; double gates cover driveways.
We hang timber gates on galvanised steel posts wherever possible: steel does not rot at ground level, which is the usual reason a timber gate starts to drag. Heavy-duty hinges, a D-latch and a drop bolt on doubles are standard.
Timber gates are built with our treated pine fencing. For a longer-lasting gate in a timber fence, a Colorbond or slat gate in a complementary colour is another option we can quote.

Common questions
Why do timber gates sag?
Usually because the timber post has rotted at the ground or the gate frame was not braced. We use galvanised steel posts and a diagonal brace so the gate keeps its shape.
Can I have a timber gate in a Colorbond fence?
Yes, though most customers choose a Colorbond gate for a Colorbond fence. Tell us what you are after.
Can I paint or stain it?
Yes – treated pine takes paint or stain well once it has dried out for a few weeks. We do not paint or stain gates as part of installation.
