Colorbond fencing with lattice inserts
The classic decorative Colorbond fence: solid sheets below, a 300 mm frame of diamond-stamped steel lattice on top. Privacy where you need it, light and pattern where you don't.
A lattice-top Colorbond fence uses the same posts, rails and sheets as a plain fence, with a fourth rail and a 300 mm lattice panel in the top frame. The lattice is steel, stamped in a diamond pattern and finished in any Colorbond colour – so it will not warp or rot like timber lattice.
You can build it as a new fence (1.8 m or 2.1 m total height, standard 2.4 m or extended 3.1 m panels) or add lattice to an existing Colorbond fence as a 300 mm or 600 mm height extension. The lattice, frame and sheets can each be a different colour at no extra cost – Primrose sheets with a Monument frame and lattice is a common combination.
Matching gates with a lattice insert are available for single and double openings.

Lattice as an extension
If your existing Colorbond fence is in good condition, a lattice height extension adds 300 mm or 600 mm without rebuilding. Post extensions match your existing post profile (Lysaght, Slimline or Standard), and the kit includes the rail, insert and colour-matched screws. Common questions
Is the lattice timber or steel?
Steel – diamond-stamped Colorbond steel, colour matched to the fence. It will not rot, warp or need painting.
Can I have lattice on both sides?
Yes. We can double-sheet the lattice so each side shows a different colour. The frame stays one colour.
Does a lattice top count towards fence height for council?
Yes, the total height including the lattice is what matters. A 2.1 m lattice-top fence usually needs council approval; 1.8 m normally does not.
