Privacy policy

Fencing Sydney (Jye Fulton, ABN 76 612 245 594) operates www.fencing.sydney (the "Site"). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, how we protect it and how you can contact us about it. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- Enquiry details you give us through the quote and contact forms, by phone, text or email: name, phone number, email address, property address or suburb, details of the fencing work you want, and any notes.
- Photos and documents you choose to upload with an enquiry (for example photos of your existing fence or site plans).
- Job records when you become a customer: quotes, invoices, payment records and correspondence.
- Employment applications submitted through the Site.
- Technical and usage data collected automatically: IP address, browser type, pages visited and the time of your visit, through our hosting provider's logs and, where enabled, Google Analytics (see Cookies below).
Why we collect it
- To respond to your enquiry, prepare a quote and arrange a site inspection.
- To carry out and invoice fencing work you engage us for, including providing a copy of a quote to an adjoining owner for a shared boundary fence when you ask us to.
- To assess employment applications.
- To keep the Site working, secure and improve it.
- To meet legal obligations (for example tax and licensing records).
We do not sell personal information, use it for unrelated marketing, or send you newsletters unless you ask for them.
How enquiries are handled
When you submit a form, your details and any uploaded files are sent securely to our business email (fencingsydney@gmail.com) and a copy is stored on our hosting provider's infrastructure (Cloudflare, with data centres that may be outside Australia) so that no enquiry is lost if an email fails. Uploaded files are stored privately and are not publicly accessible. We keep enquiry records for up to two years after our last contact, and job and financial records for seven years as required by Australian tax law, then delete or de-identify them.
Cookies and analytics
The Site uses only cookies and storage that are necessary for it to work (for example, saving a partly completed quote form in your browser during your visit). If Google Analytics is enabled, it sets cookies to measure how the Site is used in aggregate; IP addresses are anonymised and no personal details from forms are sent to Google. If we use Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam, it may set a cookie for that purpose. You can block cookies in your browser; the forms will still work.
Third parties
We share personal information only with service providers that help us operate (email, hosting and file storage, spam protection, analytics), with an adjoining owner when you ask us to share a quote, and where required by law. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
Security
The Site is served over HTTPS, forms are validated and rate-limited, uploads are scanned for type and size and stored privately, and access to enquiry records is limited to the business owner. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Email fencingsydney@gmail.com or call 0421 233 434. If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
